Examine the ~properties~ of spaces on my computer. For example what are
the properties of:
-
this space I’m typing inside, which is Document - WordPad
-
the Kenjin input/output space
-
a browser window output
-
the URL address space of a browser window
-
an explorer DIR outline
-
.... so what properties do i want for IB,SIGV,RA ?
-
note that Kenjin combines IB+RA

[ActionStatus: Done 5/1/00] Ask John
McCarthy: Yes, but you are comparing accomplishments of human individuals,
to a network of individuals; but human individuals are already networks
(viz Minskies society of mind). I doubt you can not make such a comparison
between an algorithm and a network? I think you must acknowledge my point,
networks solve problems.
-
[ActionStatus: Prerequisites] Post from TheComputer@RobustAI.Net to news:comp.a*
that Aaron's
prolog is in the resources directory.
-
[ActionStatus: todo] Create profile with email TheComputer@RobustAi.Net
-
The operating system does not have a vocabulary / semantic network that
is shared between applications. Perhaps there is one for MS Office, is
there? Perhaps this shared dictionary / semantic network should just be
WordNet. Define a COM interface
to WordNet.
-
[ActionStatus: Done] Post a email to wn and eMouth asking: Has anyone built
a COM, DECOM, CORBA interface to WordNet ?
-
With eGroups one can instantly convene a group of experts if one knows
the email addressees of those experts because the moderator is allowed
to prescribe a list of invitees.
-
[ActionStatus: waiting Patrik] We need an eGroup for RobustAi.net
-
Some connections can be made through cybersex – it is social, and very
strong.
-
PR: The winner of a contest would be based on how many connections they
made per hour (CPH). It’s interesting that "Who wants to be a millionaire"
is similar (5 choices at the bottom of the screen) in layout to how Kenjin
retrieves suggestions – one might capitalize on the format for the relationship
between IB and RA. Maybe RA should be SA (Suggestion Area). Winning a game
show is a good of rewarding an information retrieval (IR) agent.
-
Speak to Me’s division for hand held talking personal electronics should
play right into the stock market craze for PALM etc.
-
So is Kenjin and The
Brain like Pinky
and the Brain ? ;-)

ANDing categories is to ZOON context as ORing categories is to EXPAND context.

*T Ever wonder why people don’t understand you when you start
talking about your deep thoughts that seem so very clear to yourself? Well
its because they lack the background connections.

*T (Related to thought above thought) All coherance is subjective.
-
[ActionStatus: done] Publish this document as an example of John Purical's
Journal
of My Life (JOML)
-
Apply automatic hyperlinking to JOML
-
Combine JOML with eMouth project.
-
Ask Purical if funds are available for Russian to work in ASP & SQL
to produce the JOML
-
[ActionStatus: todo] Purchase The Brain
and build a brain for eMouth

[ActionStatus: todo] Why not have dinner with John, Denise and Jason?
-
[ActionStatus: todo] Respond to [*S1]'s positive restonse to me.

*A Place personal work focus on learning and using
existing tools TheBrain, ICQ,
Zurf
or Copernic.com, Mozilla,
WordNet
, this Journal, and on building the eMouth network.
-
*S A linear chronology Journal (train of thought) like this
one can be used for IR locally and globally through spreading activation.
See Lifestreams
/ Finding words
through spreading activation / Mentifix
.
-
*S The train with the spots (mems) on it to static (or dynamic
pages) and people (email addresses on contact list) become the thotons
which can overlap globally with others owned thotons. This may form a reliable
method for relivant infromation retrieval.
-
Automatic hyperlinking under the trains become essential!
-
The admonition against representation as opposed to being is principally
Islamic. Is it a mistake?
-
Add CL Research to WordNet and Wordsmith
for the choices of NL dictionary for eMouth.
5/9/2000 Tuesday
-
Starting to advertise eMouth a bit on USENET.
-
Waiting for [*s1] to have his board meeting and provide knowledge of his
conceptions.
-
*T This
Public letter to Mark Russell
described subjective /objective relativism in regards to non substance
dulistic boundries.
-
*A Perhaps the first person to learn how to apply ~user~
level (as opposed to programmer COM level) component assembly will be able
to create his own subjective space and network that will solve his search
engine problem. In other words we might not need to make a new system,
only learn how to apply the cybernetics we have and publish that as ~glue~.

How to relate to tendencies that work against a building synergy of eMouth
- things like competition and secrecy in a supply / demand struggle for
supremacy on the food chain ? One can perturb their subjective universe
on a whim, but not the objective universe. Can you buy a tool (or
a book) that would ~cohear~ your universe? I think not. But why not?
What is the physics involved?

Jabber.org might be better to use than
ICQ since its open source and provides for interaction with ICQ and other
messaging systems, use COM and XML also see their protocol mentioned at
XML
Protocol Comparisons .
-
mozilla.org ditto .. also see Daily
News - MozillaZine! Your Source for Mozilla News and Advocacy

Started the Dictionary
Train of Thought
-
Possible component breakdown of eMouth:
-
Discovery of resources
-
Networking with peers
-
Use standard XML protocols for communication (see above)
-
Sharing vocabularies amoung SIG groups
-
Sharing known resources (like having common bookmarks and contact lists)
-
Sharing common ontologies
-
Permitting foreign agents
-
User Annotation
-
Trains of thought - automatically hyperlinked with resources
-
User can easilly annotate resources
-
Remember user's behavior (where navigated)
-
Automated connections
-
Agents to suggest resources related to current context
-
Gather feedback re suggestions from user and reward/punish agents
-
Local knowledge store
-
Dictionary
-
Index of relationships to resources
-

on usnet Sunday along with this train. Will be hyperlinked to train

Discovered gnutella
- Interesting concepts: "Viral propagation, The GnutellaNet has
no hierarchy, Every server is equal, Every server is also a client, Each
Gnutella server only knows about the servers that it is directly connected
to". It will be interesting to watch this grow to fill it's niche
and whether it ends up being as revolutioary as touted in the media.
A gnutella search is for a file name only - could this be adapted to look
for a context vector?
-
Need to start woking on Speak To
Me Catalog 2000b - progress here will be slow for the next week.
-
I'm considering whether to move this web train to Manila
on Userland's EditThisPage.com
so that i can solicit comments in context, also to purchase for the JOML
project should it get funded.
-
Posted Is
there a unique identifier for mail and usnet messages? to usenet.

Discovered The
Swedish Web Bands Network! a way kewl way to do a web ring. It
might be a good idea to group a number of AI or IR project sites together
with this. The surf started from a post by Jure
Sah ... don't ask me to reproduce the train.
-
Work on putting eMouth into TheBrain
is progressing nicely. TheBrain allows me to manually evolve
the connections between concepts and is frequently the fastest way for
me to retrieve a bookmark that i forgot where i put. If i had a better
memory it probably wouldnt be so useful.
-
I'm considering wether to use The
Protege project or CyberMind for the semantic knowledge data structure.
It's a hard choice, protoge is open source and very well developed, has
a large user base, has ties to RDF
and SemanticWeb , and provides
a viewer for the KB; but apparently has no embedded action interperter.
CyberMind would probably be more efficeint and integrated but needs to
be developed from scratch in this time period. Perhaps i should publish
the CyberMind data structure and ask this question publically.
-
I wish i could find a wysiwyg tool for developing a XUL
interface - i want to use this to define the vocabulary access screens
- old HTML doesnt cut it. Sombody said Softquad
XMetal might work ... waiting for auto hyperlinking to link it up for
me. A lot of the stuff I say here is toung in cheek ... don't always
expect me to point it out with smileies.
-
Oliver Sparrow was the only
one who noticed my time travel
.. oh well.
-
I'm starting to think inside the fabric of this document (and my other
private log) .. shucks i hope this doesn't become addicting too soon ...
i still got to start work on 2000b.
